Berries with Almond Cream & Amaretti

Ingredients

2 pints strawberries, hulled and halved
2 ounces Grand Marnier or another orange-flavored liqueur
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon almond extract
12 amaretti cookies, unwrapped and lightly crushed

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    In a medium bowl, douse the berries in the Grand Marnier and sprinkle with a tablespoon of the sugar. Let the berries hang out to get their juices flowing.

    Step 2

    Beat the cream with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and the almond extract until the whipped cream forms peaks.

    Step 3

    Serve the berries with whipped cream and amaretti for topping.
