Peanut Butter or Cashew Butter Sauce

Ingredients

1/2 cup peanut butter or cashew butter
3 to 4 tablespoons low-sodium teriyaki or soy sauce, or to taste
1 to 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or white wine vinegar, or to taste
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Cayenne pepper or any hot sauce, to taste, optional

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Combine all the ingredients in a food processor with 1/2 cup water. Go easy on the hot stuff, unless you definitely want a spicy sauce. Process until smoothly pureed. Heat gently in a small saucepan and use as desired.
